What is the Paraquat lawsuit about?
- Studies show an increased risk of Parkinson's disease in individuals who had applied Paraquat. (Annual Review of Pharmacology and Toxicology, 2014)
- The first lawsuit was filed in 2017 on behalf of farm owners and agricultural workers who applied Paraquat or worked on farms where Paraquat was applied.
- Starting in 2016, the EPA required individuals to get special training in order to become certified pesticide applicators.
